こちらが初期 SEVENTEEN 。グループ名通り１７人いますね。
SEVENTEEN is a 17 membered boy group under Pledis Entertainment (home of After School, Park Kahi, Son Dambi, NU’EST, Hello Venus & Han Dong Geun). In July 2012, Pledis Entertainment announced that they would be debuting their 2nd and new boy group “Seventeen” in early 2013. Seventeen would consist of 17 members that would be split into 3 sub-units that would promote in Korea, Japan & China. Seventeen was originally a 5 membered boy group called “Tempest” that was set to debut in 2012 but the members were then moved to Seventeen. On December 2012, Pledis Entertainment announced the release of “SEVENTEEN TV”, which is a pre-debut show that would help fans learn the names and faces of the members before their debut. After the airing of the first episode of ‘SEVENTEEN TV’, in January 2013, Pledis announced that the boys that appeared in the first episode were not the final members of the group but were instead all trainees still. The final members of the group will be selected based off fan responses towards each member. The group is set to debut in June 2013, debuting the korean unit of Seventeen first.

２０１２年７月、Pledis Entertainment は２０１３年の初めに、事務所で２番目になる新しいボーイズグループ『SEVENTEEN』をデビューさせることを公表した。
SEVENTEEN は韓国、日本、中国で宣伝される、３つのサブユニットに分かれる１７人のメンバーで構成される。
SEVENTEEN はもともと、２０１２年にデビュー予定の『Tempest』と呼ばれる５人のボーイズグループだったが、そのメンバーが後の SEVENTEEN に移された。
２０１２年１２月、Pledis Entertainment は『SEVENTEEN TV』という、ファンがデビュー前にメンバーの顔と名前を覚えられるような、プレデビューショーを放映することを発表した。
『SEVENTEEN TV』の１話が２０１３年１月に放送された後、Pledis Entertainment は、１話で出てきた男の子たちは事務所の研修生だが、SEVENTEEN の最終的なメンバーに決まったわけではないと告知した。
グループの最終的なメンバーは、各メンバーに対するファンの反応に基づいて選ばれる。
グループは２０１３年６月に、まず SEVENTEEN の韓国ユニットがデビューした。
なるほど。SEVENTEEN はもともときちんとメンバーも１７人の予定だったんですね。
どういう事情があって結局１３人になってしまったのかはわかりませんが、
